CHARLES EVANS WHITTAKER
UNITED STATES COURTHOUSE
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI

The New United States Courthouse is designed to efficiently house five courts on five floors, in a circular arrangement.  Within this unique shape, Frewen Architects designed 150,000 square feet of office space for eight government agencies, ranging in size from 5,000 to 40,000 square feet.  Special requirements included vaults, ADA provisions, moveable partitions and high density storage systems.  FAI worked with all agencies to update and/or develop programs, design layouts, present alternatives, secure approvals and coordinate with the prime design firms and General Services Administration.  FAI also completed an existing furniture inventory and assisted with all new furniture selections.
Prime Architects:  Ellerbe Becket and Abend Singleton Associates, Inc.
